This is not structural and can be easily removed with a dremel or other small cutting tool. And also some 2001 and 2002 Explorers and Mountaineers have a different mounting system. They use bolt-on brackets at the bottom of the unit. Ford radios are extremely easy to install. It takes 15-20 Minutes to install one.
